The polyphenol Resveratrol is a natural, highly effective antioxidant, obtained primarily from the skin of the grape. Natural sources of resveratrol are grapes, raspberries, mulberries, plums, peanuts and Japanese knotweed. The red grape in particular appears to have a high proportion of this active ingredient. In nature, the main function of resveratrol is to protect the plant from infections, fungi and parasites as well as harmful environmental toxins and UV rays.
