Gandusha Oral Care Oil

Ayurveda recommends rinsing the oral cavity with specially prepared oral care oil - gandusha - in the morning after cleaning the tongue and teeth. This is also known as „oil pulling“. The oil is moved around in the oral cavity and drawn through the teeth. The oil is then spat out. This process is said to strengthen the gums and teeth.

The Charaka Samhita says about Gandusha

„Performing oil gargling strengthens the jaw bones and voice, develops the face and maximises the taste of food ... Teeth do not decay and become firmly rooted. There is neither toothache nor sensitivity, the teeth can chew even the hardest food.“ (Quote from the classic text - not scientifically proven)
